Otto Keller, German Quality Since 1946
Altenberge, a scenic village near the historical city of Münster, is home to the Bettderfedernfabrik Otto Keller, founded by Otto and his wife Elisabeth in 1946. In the first few years after the war, things were very difficult in Germany and getting by took hard work and real innovation. Unable to purchase any, the first machines used by the company were made by Otto Keller himself. After Otto Keller died, Elisabeth ran the factory herself for a few years and subsequently with her new husband. After she died in 1982, her son Wilhelm Wienker took over. He built up the medium-sized factory to become one of the largest duvet workshops in Germany.
A One-Stop Shop
Otto Keller is what is referred to as a “vollstufige” down facility. This means that all production steps from the preparation of the raw material to the assembly of the final down duvet are carried out in one factory. Thanks to its experience and size, the Otto Keller factory is able to produce excellent products at competitive prices.
We carry three Otto Keller models: the Classic, the Prestige and the Premium.
Feeling nostalgic? Are you looking for the sort of thick duvet you remember from holidays in Germany or Austria? Here it is: the Classic. This is how Germans were bedded 50 years ago, and how many still are bedded – no nonsense!
Otto Keller Prestige
90% down in Ne 60 mako cambric fabric – duvets like this one have faithfully served generations of Germans. Honest, no fuss, just good reliable quality.
Otto Keller Premium
100% down in Ne 90 fine down batiste. We like to wonder what Otto Keller would have made of this sumptuous duvet and the abundance which enables it. If he could feel the comfort it provides, soft as silk yet warm as wool, we’re sure he would be proud.
