Kauffmann company presentation
A history of excellence
The success story of Kauffmann begins in 1823 when the family began crafting duvets and other bedding products. Later generations of Kauffmanns expanded the enterprise, opening their first large workshop in 1896. Located near the shores of Lake Constance in Bregenz, Austria, the facility processed down and feathers, selecting only the finest to use in their duvets. Over a century later, the family business opened Europe’s most modern duvet workshop in nearby Hörbranz. The firm was purchased by Dr. Erhard F. Grossnigg in 2007. Dr. Grossnigg helped to grow Kauffmann into something more than a European brand and expanded into the international luxury market. With almost 200 years of experience, the company was well equipped to excel in this new and competitive marketplace.
Beyond Western Europe
Nowadays, Kauffmann only depends on the Western European market for 30% of its revenues. Every year, more and more people from Japan, Russia, Korea, China, and beyond join the ranks of satisfied Kauffmann customers.

About the collection
We sell four Kauffmann models: the Legend, the Elegance, the Premium and the Princess. All come with Kauffmann’s beautiful trademark finish.
Kauffmann Legend 650
Foremost in the collection is the Legend. There are simpler models, but we only sell Kauffmann’s top end ones. The Legend is a fine example of affordable luxury.
Kauffmann Elegance 700
Silver white-grey down sealed in a silver ticking will lull you softly to sleep. Traditionally, most people like to sleep under a white duvet because they are worried an alternative colour duvet will shine through the cover. Others prefer something bolder, such as the down in this lovely duvet.
Kauffmann Premium 750
With a fill power of 750 cuin in a nano down batiste (Ne 120), Kauffmann calls this the “Premium” series, but we think that’s an understatement: its light weight will leave you thinking you’re sleeping under a cloud.
Kauffmann Princess 800
The Princess, with its soft-to-the-skin ticking and filling of pure white goose down, provides a truly royal sleeping experience. Lighter-than-feather comfort means you are in for a really refreshing night’s sleep.
