All Seasons Duvet

The All Seasons Duvet consists of two separate down duvets – a light and cool 4.5 Tog summer duvet and a warmer, spring/autumn duvet (6.0 or 9.0 Tog). They can be used individually or together to form a single duvet, fit to keep you warm amidst the coldest winter chills. These clever, polyvalent models are an excellent fit for those who crave luxurious sleep in climates where each season brings markedly different weather. They are also a boon to those trying to save, as the combined All Seasons has the value of two duvets with a price closer to that of one.

Take note of the Tog rating listed as you shop as this can vary across manufacturers. The All Seasons offered by Otto Keller consists of a 4.5 Tog duvet and a warmer one with 6.0 Tog. The Dickenbergh All Seasons product brings together a 4.5 Tog duvet with one rated at 9.0 Tog, especially recommended for those living in the chilly countryside. Regardless of the maker, the two duvets in the All Seasons products are easily and seamlessly joined together by buttons, creating the feel of a single duvet when used in conjunction.

Available in all sizes from single to super king, these All Seasons duvets are the ideal flexible sleeping solution. All our duvets are premium products with natural filling of at least 90% down and are produced in workshops that exercise extensive quality control and maintain high standards of excellence.

What makes a good All Seasons duvet?

Coupling system

An All Seasons duvet features two duvets: one light, one medium. They can be used alone or combined to form a winter duvet. The coupling system varies across brands. Some utilise buttons, others press studs (snap buttons). We recommend testing the coupling system when your duvet arrives to make sure it works and you are satisfied with the method.

Since these products combine two duvets, All Seasons duvets vary in terms of heat regulation. In any case, when combined four layers of cotton fill this duvet. This amount of fabric lessens the breathability of the duvet. Keep in mind that, when used in wintertime, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it translates to greater insulation.

Tog Rating

We use Tog rating as an easy-to-understand measurement of insulation. A higher tog rating means that a duvet is suitable for colder environments. All Seasons duvets will have multiple tog ratings listed, representing the rating of each duvet, which varies across brands. The Otto Keller products are lighter, with a combined tog of 10.5 compared to the 13.5 rating of the Dickenbergh All Seasons duvets. More information can be found on our page about Tog rating.

Down Quality

European Standard EN 12934 regulates the categorisation and naming of the filling material, depending on the proportion of new down and the types of poultry used. Only down fillings of Class 1 may bear the quality rating "new". All down duvets from have the best Class 1 fillings.

Experience shows that duvets with ticking of Ne 30 or higher are suitable for use by people with dust mite allergies. Premium down comforters have high-quality covers ranging from Ne 40 to Ne 155. On this website, you can see the Ne of each duvet under its product details. Additional protection is provided by duvets with the NOMITE label, which we recommend for allergy sufferers.
